The Things they Say

Last night as Joe was on the verge of sleep I stuck my head around his door to check on him & he asked me to come and cwtch with him 'for a minute.' I cuddled up in bed with him, he wrapped one arm around me and with the other gently stroked my hair & gazed into my eyes happy that he had his mummy for cuddles. 'Mummy I love you' he said, 'I love you too sweetie' *warm fuzzy feeling* to which he replied, 'But I love Daddy more'

Visit From the Tooth Fairy

Today Lauren FINALLY lost one of her top front teeth, it's been wobbly for aaaages and i was beginning to think the little bugger was never going to budge! Over the over the past 3 months her jaw has gone through a major growth spurt resulting in giant gaps amongst her teeth! Now we just need the other 5 wobblers she's got to fall out ;-)

Dress Up

Today Lauren had to dress as an artist for school. She refused to wear an old shirt with chalk/paint etc on it so we went for a 'sophis arteeest'

Super Hero Party!

My Darling Joefish aka Jofey aka Spidey....
Happy 4th birthday big boy!
Mummy woke you up at 9am (lazy bones!) and the 1st thing you said when you came into our room was 'Im bigger now!'
You loved your new spiderman outfit, power rangers figures and puzzle master books from me, daddy & Lauren & you got a great spaceship and treasure island to go with your pirate ship from auntie Simone!
Today we have entertained Captain America (Rhys), Buzz Lightyear (Jayden), a Transformer (Jayden) and 2 Batmen (Harvey & Archie).
We played with your new toys in the garden, bashed down the cobwebs that spiderman left in the tree (hurrah for silly string!), hunted for spider eggs (aka rocks wrapped in foil!), pinned the spider on the cobweb (who needs pin the tail on the donkey?!) and also played the more traditional games of pass the parcel musical bumps & musical statues!
We had a lovely afternoon with grandma, pops, auntie Simone, Becky, Guy and Grace and now mummy is exhausted.com!
I hope you've enjoyed your special day as much as we have.
Love you always,
Mummy xxxxx

Carry on Caravanning

We were lucky enough to get away on a v.cheap holiday for a couple of days after the Easter weekend. Mums friend owns a caravan close to Saundersfoot in West Wales and let us stay there for next to nothing.
We had such a lovely time - no internet access so Dom couldn't go on his laptop (Woop!) not really any phone access (so no being preoccupied with Facebook/email etc) just 3 days of quality family time.
We spent an afternoon on a small beach in Wisemans Bridge and introduced the kids to rock pools, we went to Folly Farm for the day which the kids loved, had fish & chips, ice-creams and spent a glorious afternoon in Tenby.
Although the caravan was bloody freezing at night time (seriously - FREEZING) it was cosy (when we had the fire & heating on) and the kids loved having mummy and daddy together. At the same time. Not preoccupied with work/phones/computers etc etc.
West Wales is so beautiful, gets my thumbs up over Devon anytime!

Easter

I love Easter weekend, not for the chocolate but for the time off! An extended weekend - 4 whole days! This year I also took the Thursday before good Friday and the week after Easter Monday - 10 whole days of no work! 10 whole days of 'stepping off the treadmill!' Bliss!
Lauren and I celebrated the start of this extended break by going to watch the x-factor concert in Cardiff.
Don't judge me....
Dom bought us tickets for Christmas so as mum was having Lauren for the 1st week of the hols I met them in Cardiff and we went for a glass of wine (me & mum that is!) then some yummy noodles in wagamamas and then went to watch the concert and I have to say it was very good! We got to see Amelia Lily, Mishca B, Marcus Collins, Craig, Janet Devlin and best of all Little Mix! Lauren had no clue who most of these people were but she soaked up the atmosphere and had a great time dancing with her mum and her
All in all a very fun evening!

Easter Sunday was a bit of a lazy one in our house. I love that my kids like a lie-in (even though they are only 3 & 6!)
We made chocolate covered cornflake cake, went for a long walk at Blaise Castle and had a lovely lamb dinner. Yum.
