March's Family Portrait

Well, it's progress this month folks as I actually remembered (unlike February).

This was taken at the beginning of the month when we met up with family for the day in Cirencester. It was the first really nice day of the year hence the short sleeves being sported by the male members of the family.

Need to work on getting the kids to at least look happy eh?!

Orange saga

Yes, I'm cross that you just squeezed an orange segment all over my NEW WHITE DUVET COVER.

Yes, I'm even crosser that, when I told you off, you stuck your fingers in your ears whilst saying blah, blah, blah.

But when i told you, 'no more eating oranges on my bed' i couldn't help but stifle a smile when you told me that your life wouldn't be worth living without your bedtime orange!

You are funny.

But NO MORE ORANGES ON MY BED ok?!

February Round-Up

Only 10 days late - sums up life at the moment. Busy, busy, busy!

So what happened in February? Well, aside from it raining EVERY BLOODY DAY (or so it felt like), its been a pretty uneventful month. I did get to do a half tick against one of my new year goals and we purchased this beauty. I've now just got to learn how to use it....

We had the odd sunny day and we took it for its first trip to Old Down Country Park (if you're ever near Bristol I'd highly recommend it for a day out - it's my favourite place to visit on a summers day.) These are the result of my first practice with my new baby!

We had a lovely family Sunday - Gourmet Burger Kitchen followed by a stroll in the sunshine

Missy got to catch up with her 'boyf' Jamie who she was at nursery with. We've not seen him for a year but they got on so well - it was lovely to see them
playing so nicely together and being the 8 year olds that they are!

Finally I was lucky enough to have a visit from my truly fabulous friends! we spent the afternoon in the local where friends old and new got to meet and catch up!

Then Mr C & the kids were packed off to the MILs for the night so we could pretend to be students again!

Failing miserably at the smouldering look

Love these guys so much!

Auditioning for Pantene

An afternoon of wine, followed by vodkas, followed by cocktails does not make for a very well me the next morning that's for sure! We spent the morning on the sofa eating peanut butter on toast watching reruns of new girl. Just like our student days (except it would if been Friends rather than New Girl)!

Finally I did also find a lush pair of jeans from Primarni believe it or not.

Ladies and gentlemen I give you the 'Push up, Push In' jeans....

£13!!!! Yes that's right, £13!!! And they really do push up and pull in too! bloomin lovely they are - stretchy, comfy & most importantly they hold in your mum tum!

(Taken inspiration from all the fashion blogs I've recently started to follow and rolled up the ends - ooh er)

And that was February....my one epic fail was not getting a photo of the 4 of us for the me and mine project :( how hard can it be to get the 4 of us together for a photo?
Answer - VERY!
This will be the only month though...march is already in the bag!

World Book Day

I've read a lot of Facebook posts & blog entries today as well as heard mutterings in the playground about what a pain the dress up aspect of world book day is and for once I disagree.

Now this could be due to the fact that;

A) School were ultra organised this year & gave us 3 weeks notice they'd be dressing up on world book day
B) The kids picked relatively easy characters
And
C) I managed to make their costumes purely from stuff around the house thus eliminating the need to rush around the supermarket the night before spending £20 on a dress up outfit they'll never wear again

Ladies & gentlemen I give you...

Gangsta Granny!

And

Luke Skywalker! (not strictly a book character but he was adamant the book came before the film - what do I know?)

Unfortunately the dude was poorly and missed school today so didn't get to showcase his, quite frankly, amazing Luke Skywalker outfit (An old cardigan of missys, arms chopped off and used as the 'wraps' around his legs *not legwarmers* and an old belt of Mr Cs in case you were wondering). So this picture was taken last week when we made the outfit and spent a good 15 minutes laughing at the legwarmers leg wraps ahem.

Missy was very excited about going in to school and seeing what all her friends were dressed up as. Here she is with Mr.Stink!

Happy world book day everyone!
