From babes in arms to teenagers there were about 40 children all together and they all had an absolute ball but there was 1 little girl who Lauren was besotted with...everyone meet Flo.
From the moment they met late on Friday afternoon until the time we left on Sunday lunchtime these girls spent their whole time together (mainly in the hot tub it has to be said - even at 10.30pm!!!) fortunately Flo's mum was ace and we really hit it off (so much better when you get on with the mums right?!) so we bonded over wine in the fresh country air whilst the girls bonded in the (boiling!) hot tub! Lauren even woke at 5.45am on Saturday & loomed over me in the tent telling me that she 'really has to go & meet Flo by the trampoline as soon as I get up' errrrr not at 5 flippin 45am you don't missy - get back to sleep!
Their friendship was sealed on Saturday when Flo gave Lauren a friendship bracelet - I thought Lauren might burst with pride!
When it was time to leave we got the girls to swap addresses and our numbers - Flo said she'd FaceTime Lauren (!) I suggested they become pen pals (such joyous memories from when I was a kid!) and they promised each other they would write to each other every day *sigh*
It was with a heavy heart that Lauren got in the car & waved goodbye to her new BFF and when we got home & had some lunch she wept silent tears until daddy asked her why she was crying...'I just mss Flo so so much' and then came the noisy tears. Good job mummy gives such great hugs eh?
